Jaden visits Great-Grandma

My Mom just can't seem to step into the Great-Grandma realm. So anytime I get a half a second to get a close to GG & Jaden picture I take that opportunity! Being denied her own grandchildren has made her one tough cookie. Don't get me wrong she adores Jaden. She's just afraid of getting close to the little guy emotionally. This is Jaden's first visit to GG's house. We had stopped by while waiting on "Daddy's" airplane to take off to Florida.

Fairy tales and dreams...

Another one of Mom's favorite things to collect... FAIRIES! She has so many different collections!! Houses for all the seasons and holidays, Cherished Teddy Bears, Tom Clark (including elves) and of course Fairies!! She is "planning" for the future she says, "An investment for her daughter when she is gone".

I'd like to share a little Fairy magic with you...

This is probably MY favorite!

Thanksgiving Display

Here is Mom's Thanksgiving Display. This year it is "Barns". Different for sure and so much fun... Enjoy.

Florida bound...

Today will begin a test of Love of family, future and commitments for Scotty. It will also begin a "growing" level of maturity; I hope. He landed in Florida at 10:30 this morning saying good-bye for now to his 1 yr. old son and girlfriend for the first time. His love of family is his driving force. His grandma is laying in the hospital with a balloon in her heart because of multiple heart attacks over the weekend (in 1 hospital) while his Mom underwent cancer surgery (in another hospital). He didn't have alot of time to get down there and we were left with selling heirloom possessions to get him there; for fear that his grandma would pass before we could do it any other way. She also has cancer of 1 lung and the other is collapsed. It does not look promising at this point. So with the strength of an Army I said my good-byes in hopes that he has just a little time left. God Bless Jaden for he knows not why Daddy will not be here for a while.

Bunny Grahams...

Ok, so yesterday in my local "Wal-superstore" in the cracker isle I found these. I had to have them just for the humor in the house. We are so having a really bad time. Scott is really sick (he'll miss a total of a week of work and is the sole income provider), Jr's Grandmother in Florida is in critical condition and they don't expect her to make it, and his Mom just had cancer surgery and found that it had spread! Now we need to try to get him down to Florida. We have no back up and I needed a good laugh! So when I got these home Patrick did not fail to deliver for me the laugh I needed. He looked at these boxes and said "Are you kidding me? Look Mom, it's a Chocolate Agouti!" I couldn't help it but to laugh and smile! I'm a cracker person anyway so it's not like they'll be wasted!!

Mini escape artist!

Now we all know my "love" for the Mini-Rex, NOT! But none-the-less I still tollerate my hubby and daughter enjoying this breed together. So when Kat had a litter the doe was not taking care of she called for an emergency foster. 45 minutes away my brother-in-law rushed at my request to go "rescue" the litter and bring them to my does. I carefully divided among 2 does the litter of 6 (poor VIV, she got 4 of them!), giving 2 to our Lionhead. All has been going well until about 2 am this morning when (unbeknown to me) Porschea had "rescued" an escapee! She (Porschea) had carefully brought it into the office and tried to keep it moving for almost 5 hours before I discovered the very chilled almost little life little Mini-Rex. We got him/her warmed up and grabbed up the Lionhead to get it a little extra warmth on the inside through some milk and placed it back in the nest. Not sure how exactly Lucky Houdini got out but there is baby saver (already installed previously) and I added extra today!

Happy Birthday #23!!

A long empty spot aches as I yearn to say a simple "Happy Birthday" to my 23 year old son today! He'll never hear these words, not today. As his "Father" kept us apart since he was 4 years old! Proudly serving in the Coast Guard with a wife and a 1 month old baby girl. My Son if you never get curious about me please...... Just know I wished you a Happy Birthday and that I still LOVE you!

Thank you to all the Veterans!

I'd like to take a moment to say THANK YOU to any and all Veterans who are active or retired from our Military Services. Thank you to all of those now Resting in Peace that have defended those rights with their life! Thank you for protecting and defending our Country and Freedoms! May God always protect you and may we NEVER forget your sacrifices.

Tickle my fancy...

So today was obviously PICTURE day for everyone.... This is GWEN's litter again, lol. Today I got to go over the litter a little better. It now looks like I have at least 4 brokens in a variety of colors, maybe 5! I also am sure on a Agouti once you see their little pink belly there is no mistake, lol!! I'll
be color id'ing these for the next week I think.... at I'll get sone nice practice with all these "unusual" colors....

Vibrant Colors abound!

No I'm not talking fall colors here, lol! I'm of course talking the beautiful colors that the French Angora Viv delivered this week. All 6 are doing well, even the little one we didn't think would make it (and may still not). Crossing those fingers as always! Fawns, Chocolates, maybe a (Shhhhhh) C R E A M, and a Black so far I think.... See what you guys think....

The Lion "ROARS"...

So finally I had a chance to get pictures of the beautiful Gidget and her 2 little ones. We are just beside ourselves with Joy!!

18 new babies in 2 days!!

Boy, I must be "THE NUTTY BUCKEYE"!! I now have 2 brand new litters of French Angora babies! And still (so far) 1 litter of 2 new Lionheads. Today Gwen (litter pictured) decided to "outdo" Viv and delivered an enormous litter of 10! At least that's what I could count and did it twice to make sure! There is just so many. I'm really excited because she delivered brokens!! Looks like at least two at this point maybe 3!
YEP! I AM the "broken Hoarder". ;-)

More finished projects of the past...

The Mobius Scarf... what a blast!! Going to make one for someone special this year!! Loved it!

The Ribbon Shawl...

Had to knit this... it was fun! BUT I'll probably NEVER wear it although it was expensive to knit and the pattern was super !

The shawl or "Stole"... Fluffy & easy!

The Beret... to shape use a plate!

More will be posted later... shawls are my favorite but I love challenges as well...
I've done lace afghans, shawls and slippers. Cables in washcloths and slippers. ... maybe though I should do a sweater this winter... I've not done one of those yet!

The interesting and refined Judge

BOY! What a wealth of knowledge!! This Judge thoroughly went over each specimen on the table and offered his opinion to each exhibitor gracefully (& with a lovely accent to boot, lol). Outside of a couple that were DQ'd for cow hocks!! He told that poor breeder that those animals should have never made it to the table and should have been immediately culled!! I would have died!! However the balance of his comments allowed first timer Jenna a good over view of the worst that can happen but she nearly puked each time the judge touched her bunny...

Pictured below is Jenna, her patient & understanding hubby Keith and her very supportive Mom Debbie. All together for Jenna's very first show...

The Biten Judge.

Poor Judge! The broken can be very unpredictable in my opinion so very close attention to breeding is essential. A table is not the place to find out that your broken is a biter and I probably would have culled that boy on the spot!! Ms. Helen Brose didn't even see him coming~ but he nailed her like a snake after an egg!!

The Anniversary GIFT shared...

Friends until this year have been far and very few between for me. I've moved frequently and just never ventured out of my box in fear of losing a friend. UNTIL, that is; I stepped into the beautiful world of rabbits and knitting. Now my circle is growing and I share with many delightful people and friends. One in particular has become a very dear treasure to me and we share more in common (outside of distance) than what I could have ever imagined! Jenna is located in Rhode Island. She has so many delightful qualities about her and she is so very talented!! She shares a special place in my heart and life. We are so similar that Scott jokingly says we are twins separated at birth (although she is younger than I am), lol. Well it just so happens that we even share our anniversary closely together (2 days apart) and for the celebration in Fulton she brought clear from Rhode Island a very special cake... Aren't those Angora bunnies just toooooooo cute?!

Lionheads Presentation...

FAILED at Convention!! What a bummer!! Cross the Ole' fingers for next year that the Siamese Sable might pass. IMO if someone is going to provide a Standard to which to follow (that they have written) why would you attempt to present anything that does not represent that standard?? Just baffles me. So maybe next year in MN a little Lionhead might get it's first chance... again.

BTW, Gidget (pictured above) delivered her first litter today of 2 live Sable Point kits! Oh Goody~ no actually it was an exciting moment for us as she was our first Lionhead!!
And not to be outdone~ Viv delivered 6 live! Now we're waiting on 3 more litters all due this week. 1 French and 2 Lionheads. Pictures will be posted tomorrow or Friday...

Completed Knit projects

Do to requests (and you know who you are) ;-) I'm trying to get most of my completed projects photographed to share... Here is the beginning of some I've done. I don't think Mom will "pull" hers out that I've done for her we'll just have to see.... She likes to keep me a secret, lol. But Auntie will pull hers out next week and I'll do photos of some of my favorites (Auntie is my favorite and uses what all I make instead of "saving" it like Mom.). But this little guy should get you laughing... he's a puppet bath frog for Jaden when he was born last year.

The Fulton Scarf...

As I got ready to make the track to Fulton NY for the show I stopped in at my local Yarn shop in search of a "new" quick project to make. Now Kim KNEW I've been eyeballing this beautiful fiber for almost two years... and she suggested a scarf out of it. I wouldn't want to use it in a large project due to cost at $22 a skein and only 132 yards but ahhhhhh the feel was so luxurious!! Without a pattern a scarf was in order for hubby... I've done slippers and Afghans for him but wanted something he could wear outside of the home.... so earthy tones were in order! After all it was for his Birthday on the 25 of October what better timing! Most of the way up I knit after daylight hit and it took me a little to get the width set to where I was happy. By the time we reached Fulton I was about half done. I finished on the way back and threw it over my diligently driving hubbys shoulders. He looks so sophisticated in it....

Happy Halloween/ 1st Birthday!!

Jaden's First Birthday Cake!

Mom delivers the "Goods"!!

Mom (Andi), Dad (Scott JR.), cousin Carmen, and THE Birthday Boy Jaden!!

Jaden, my Grandson was blessed with family and Friends at his first Birthday Party!! YES! He was truly born on Halloween! Grins, Giggles and tears flowed from him as Mom and Dad tried to keep him entertained from gift to gift.
